Is there even a feature to verify an installation? If the app manages the installation I would expect such a feature. And from what I read about the app, there is not really a thing like making a game compatible with the app. Not as a requirement that is. I believe one could create a manifest for the app, but that is not mandatory for it to work.

In fact, the games games downloaded from the webpage are playing fine. It's just that the games downloaded from the itch.io app seem to update automatically, so I'd like to try to get the app to recognise the games I've downloaded from the web and be able to update them automatically.
I've tried moving the web downloaded game to the app's default download location or to a download location I've added and then letting the app scan to recognise it, but this hasn't worked. That's why I'm asking for help.
If not, I'll consider downloading the update manually or re-downloading the game in the app.
