Not everyday I get to see Pinkie Pie in the flesh and paint be called by a different name by default—and I have not even gotten around to watch the show yet. Not officially, at least.

Must be an "Anon" thing going on here.

This was also when I was incentivized to look up for the first time of the fact that Pinkie Pie has an actual full name where her name was derived from.

oh weird, for some reason I just read her name as pinkie pie. Your right just called pink pony/ponka po is kinda odd. At least when the art is this spot on, like that isn't pinkie pie with with freckles and a hat, that's just pinkie pie

Actually found an update on why she's called Ponka Po here.
Tiarawhy/studiowhy is working on the Pony Waifu Sim where they use names like this, Ponka Pone, Purple Smart, Blue Fast.
So this is more of a nod to that game. I doubt it's an official connection though.

In fact, I also have their Fluttershy game that I have not checked yet in one of my collections.

There's so few of us game devs that make pony related content, we try to keep our attention on all that we can.
Fluttermare is a nice little animation game. Its in our feral collection as well XP
