I have a very random question. So I own the game on steam,  and wanted to mod the game on steamdeck. I was able to mod the game and create the modded folder with all the files, but I cant boot the mod from the folder like normal, due to it being a .exe.

So I tried to add it as a "non steam game" and while it starts to boot, it keeps giving me an "unknown header error"  and thats as far as I've been able to get, so i figured at least see if anyone had any ideas

I've actually gotten my modded game running successfully on steam deck before. Like you, I added it as a non-steam game. The key to success in my case was changing some proton compatibility settings, try seeing if switching a different version of proton in your settings for the non-steam game will allow it to launch.

Thanks for replying! So I tried that a few times, and even made sure to install the game internally, but I kept getting the same "Error    Uncaught Error: Header is Wrong" warning over a black screen every time the game boots up, then it just stays stuck on that until I close it. Do you have any idea what the "header" may be referring to?

I'm not sure, I don't think I've ever encountered that error on steam deck, but I think I've seen people get it on windows if their game was out of date. It might be worth reinstalling the whole game, in case some files got messed up somehow during some updates.

alternatively, if you have a windows device and are able to install the mod on there, you should be able to just copy over the whole modded install folder over to your deck and then add that as a non-steam game (without having to actually patch the game on your steam deck).
