sounds like you just wanna be right and not submit to the facts because you're angry over a VN having better quality than most, at least caribdis puts their heart into this for us fans. stay mad.

this is maybe the saddest comment ive ever seen

ironically, I found this out after I posted this comment. Yeah, you are right. Now I'm having the same questions as you

This game uses video files, not gifs. Also those images number by the thousands, so compression alone would only reduce file size to a point.

His questions weren't offensive, go easy on your angry responses folks.

You're right, everything is already rendered in advance, nothing is rendered at runtime.

  1. The playtime of this AVN is already very impressive, for a slow player like me it's ~30 hours already.
  2. There are a lot of different renders. Every frame is a new render, there's little reuse and there are no shortcuts. That makes the bulk of the size, we're close to 10.000 of them I think.
  3. There are hundreds of animations, which are, on average, longer than in your typical AVN. And a lot of them have a moving camera, which drives up their size too.
  4. The game also goes heavy on music & SFX, we might have passed the thousand mark on them already.

So yeah, it's a lot. Media compression is already being used, though you can always push it a bit more in exchange for worse quality, like they do in the Android version.
