You don't actually need 400 persuasion- sorry if the guide is confusing! Having 400 persuasion just +1 right so there's more breathing room if you didn't choose enough correct answers before. That's same with the other ROs, there's no persuasion requirement but being more persuasive helps. Clarmont's only special because he needs you to complete the rebel chain.

And yeah rebel approval doesn't matter for Clarmont romance. Failling the rebel approval check during the final rebel secret gives you 50 Sayra and Clarmont rivalry, but I don't think the game ever checks for your rivalry with Clarmont if you're already romancing him. However, the Sayra rivalry blocks her from revealing her identity in week 6, so anyone who wants a good revaire ending should try to stay on the rebels' good side.

If your widow betrays Clarmont, then that's not a problem for you ;p

I wasn't being rejected. We were engaged and everything at the end of the summit. I'm just trying to prevent Clarmont from dying at the end without bringing peace to Revaire.

I was told it's possible to get a "not bad" ending for Clarmont by siding with the rebels and not bringing peace.

I'm currently in the middle of week 6.  I was able to choose to actively participate in the rebellion and I got Sayra's secret. I'm hoping to get a real Clarmont end this time. I'm not expecting peace. I don't have any of the Revaire peace flags because I didn't get to interact with Gisette or Jarrod (i was too ugly to get invited on his date despite picking all the best answers Day 1). Though I was able to get slight revaire approval with the best "improve reputation" option.

In order to not have Clarmont die when you select "support him from afar" (instead of actively participate) do you have to bring peace to Revaire in order for him to survive in that route? Because I made it to the end but he died in the war and because it wasn't a good ending I didn't gain the countess or clarmont bonuses.

Okay, first off, you don't actually need to befriend Gisette or Jarrod if your goal is merely peace. Even if your MC has poor stats, you could convince Gisette to set up Jarrod/Sayra by just making the right choices during the conversation with her, then perform well during negotiation. If you succeed, you can get a happy ending with Clarmont.

If you want to support the rebellion instead, you need to choose to do so during conversation w/ Sayra in week 7, then choose to play confused innocent or mislead Gisette when the choice comes up. Mislead Gisette requires 90 manipulation and provides "good" rebel victory, but simply playing confused innocent can also lead to successful rebellion, just not as quick (and the game classify it as a "neutral" end. You can still get a happy ending with Clarmont).

If you supported the rebels actively but Clarmont still died during civil war, then you have failed in negotiation during week 7 day 5. For that, I recommend just following the guide aza linked to see what you can do. See week 7, and you need to increase "rebelallies" for rebel victory.

(1 edit)

I finally succeeded! Rebels won.
Based on everything you said, I'm going to see if I can use this build to get the peace ending too by redoing week7, without having to go farther back. Although there's no additional boosts I will get by doing that right? Does a perfect Sayra ending have a new boost?
And there's no benefit to supporting the royals on Clarmont's route right? There will just be different text and I'll have to kill him 😭?

I also happened to get the best friendship ending with Penelope too! So 3 stat boosts obtained.

No additional boost, yeah. And there is no benefit from supporting the royals on Clarmont romance path (although you get some... interesting content. You don't have to kill Clarmont with your own hands though).
