I feel like you did more with your minimalist bg than I did with my high-res sky. Neat game! I don't really like mashing buttons, but I didn't want to quit this one.
Well, I tried to make a scrolling background first, but I did not get it working so just made it static :). I think the colors contribute to atmosphere a lot. Glad you like it.
