My feedback for ThoughtOut:
What your game does well:
Your game presents the player with a unique mechanic that ties with the theme 'inside out'. The player has to strategize by combining their inner reaction to the input with the response they output, otherwise they sacrifice some points.
The UI is responsive and gives the expected output each time. No bugs.
What your game doesn't do well:
The timer undermines the skill that the game is trying to teach the player. Normally in a conversation we are encouraged to be empathetic to the person confiding in us. This requires to take our time and think about how we respond (and in some cases we don't respond at all; we simply listen to them). That is, the timer encourages the player to respond as quick as possible.
After a few prompts the gameplay got repetitive, and I knew the solutions to all the problems.
Areas of Opportunity:
I enjoyed the mechanic in the beginning, and I think there's room to build upon it. Right now the inputs the game feeds the player are decoupled, but perhaps you can create a dialog between the player and a specific character? That way the prompts are more interrelated. One thing you react and respond to in a certain way might affect the dialog later down the line.
I wasn't sure about the incorporation of different difficulty levels, but it you really feel the timer is necessary you could reserve it to the more difficult modes?
I hope this feedback helps!
