This was fun to play! The procedural generation of the beanstalk is really cool. There's also a lot of depth to the sandbox of this game--y'all got so much done! Really like the different ways this touches on the theme--you're small in scale, the beanstalk scales up, your abilities scale in power, the birds are relatively large compared to you, etc.! The visuals and music fit very well too.

Here's some feedback if y'all continue to work on this game:

  • I couldn't find any corrupted leaves, but eventually I had a pop-up about it, so that was the indicator that I had it. I was hoping there might be some way to get guided toward them or something.
  • It didn't really feel like I had a goal, but it was pretty fun to jump around, grab things, throw seeds at birds, glide, and so on. The health didn't really seem to go down much so it felt fun just to go around and do things.
  • Performance eventually got noticeably worse, I guess because there were eventually so many objects. If you do continue work on this, it might be good to do some limit testing with lots of specific kinds of objects and figure out what scales well performance-wise and what doesn't (e.g., maybe just spawn a 1000 droplets and see if that tanks performance).

Overall great job! It's amazing how much y'all got done for the jam! :)

hey thanks for the detailed feedback <3

I agree on everything you said :D

About the performance, can you tel me if you played it on WebGL or PC version?
We have some optimization going on but not huge

Of course! Yeah I was on WebGL, so it might not be that much of a big thing. It also wasn't like crazy bad, just a bit of choppiness from a lower framerate.

ah yeah. game's not meant to be played on WebGL but it does attract people if you have a WebGL version so... yeah.
Thanks for playing!
