Quite an intense short romance set in or around Sparta, which does a great job of conveying long-felt emotions without heavy exposition.
(Warning: light spoilers ahead)
I really liked that Dorieus and Alexios' chemistry was instantly obvious, the descriptions of emotions and feelings was on point for the whole story and really held up the intensity of their match. I wonder if the reference to Artemis watching them was more about Doreius' own issues/insecurities with his love being what he perceived to be Gods judging him. Their meeting felt like it had been long overdue after months of training, culminating together there finally saying what their looks had long been saying across the training grounds. I loved that while supporting each other in battle, their bond was so strong it inspired their fellow warriors - also alleviating their worries of judgment from their peers and likely freeing that burden. I hope they survived the battle and could stay together in a peaceful future that they helped to forge!
