Quite an intense short romance set in or around Sparta, which does a great job of conveying long-felt emotions without heavy exposition.

(Warning: light spoilers ahead)

I really liked that Dorieus and Alexios' chemistry was instantly obvious, the descriptions of emotions and feelings was on point for the whole story and really held up the intensity of their match. I wonder if the reference to Artemis watching them was more about Doreius' own issues/insecurities with his love being what he perceived to be Gods judging him. Their meeting felt like it had been long overdue after months of training, culminating together there finally saying what their looks had long been saying across the training grounds. I loved that while supporting each other in battle, their bond was so strong it inspired their fellow warriors - also alleviating their worries of judgment from their peers and likely freeing that burden. I hope they survived the battle and could stay together in a peaceful future that they helped to forge!

A cute little whimsical mystery with tumultuous emotions on both sides - I did really enjoy the setting that was painted and the characters I met!

(Warning: light spoilers)

I liked the build up to the mystery and the bits alluding to magic and/or escapism, perhaps to cope with the main character's loss. I really liked how they decided to almost call a 'truce' on their issues and work together to help solve the mystery surrounding their shared friend and put it to rest. It did feel a little abrupt from there (they seemed to quickly pool ideas together that they already knew, rather than discover anything new on their search), so Ember's mystery feels a little in the air still. However, I did like that as a result of collaboration, Forrest let his walls down enough to ask Laura out to dinner - whether as a peace offering, a tribute to their shared friend, or more, who knows...

Ok cool thank you! I'll start with the two it shows first under your title list then: Ember's Gone and Spartan Way of Love, if that's alright? Do you need my email to send something to or does it come via itch.io directly?

Sounds great ^_^. Honestly, I'm interested in any and all of your games, so if there's any in particular you'd like to be reviewed or played through more, pick whichever :D. I had a quick scroll and they all look like titles I'd enjoy!

Hi Maxine, im very flattered! I would enjoy that. Are they all of similar download size etc? Would there be a deadline to complete the review after download?

Hi again Maxine! Finally finished all the endings :)!

I really enjoyed this VN, I liked the little world created where he lives, quaint and pretty, as well as how it all changes when in Egypt. The premise was really fun and I liked both of the romance routes/options. I did end up using the walkthrough for quiz help - I know a bit about Egypt but certainly not as much as I needed to haha.

Thank you again for being so accommodating with the font ^_^ I hope to see more works in the future! x

Morning Maxine,

Thank you for explaining, that all makes sense - I'm clearly far too used to one builder and as a user, I don't know the intricacies of the setup etc. I'll check out the controls as you mentioned on the main page for sure. The volume is less of an issue knowing it's only music, you probably had that stated somewhere but when I'm excited my brain does like to skip important info, so sorry.

You're an absolute gem - I just downloaded the easy-read version to have a glance at how it looks, and it's ideal! Totally devourable at my usual pace now when I have time to get stuck in later. I really, really appreciate you doing that!

I'll come back and leave a further reply when I'm knee-deep in the story :)

Thank you so much!

Hey - I've just bought the deluxe version, and I can't find a preferences/settings screen anywhere to amend volume or key shortcuts etc. I was wondering if I'm missing something obvious on the main screen? The font is the main thing I'd tweak if I can, even on my larger monitor it's quite small and the font itself is difficult to read being italicised and styled as it is.

I'm excited to get into it! But do want to check if there is a settings section first to make reading it any easier :)

I love this demo - I can't wair for more/the eventual full version, I'm excited for every route (and that definitely isn't always the case!) x

So cute! I love the premise and how well fleshed out their little worlds were in such a short time. I loved them all, but Mac was my favourite <3
