I'm mac-only and I had the same problem when we were playtesting. The only thing that fixed it was messing around in the terminal following the instructions in this forum: https://superuser.com/questions/1345755/how-to-fix-the-application-cant-be-opene...
I think we have a better mac build but we ran out of time to upload it to the itch page. Sorry about that, but thank you for trying and giving us feedback!
