I would love to see the main concept implemented with other mechanics. It's a very interesting approach to the theme. I like the hint with flashing light in the domes. One small detail is that there should be a only one movement speed, there is no need to walk if I can run.

I see, so basically the walk should only be left if the game had mechanics that requires more precision movement, right?

Yes! or if the game has stamina as a resource that can be use to other actions/movements.
