This a fun game! I really like how you fit the theme, I thought some stuff looked a bit weird for what I thought it was and then I got to the boss fight and it all made sense! It was very clever! The music and visuals are great too!

Here's some other feedback if y'all continue to work on the game:

  • I don't know why I missed this, but I didn't realize I could hit space for the shield for a really long time. I think it was only on my third attempt did I realize "OK, I'm definitely missing something here" and then made sure I actually read all the instructions--I think I only read the first message and didn't realize there was more. This totally can be just a "me" thing, but yeah I just missed this haha!
  • I assume the second level is more like a victory lap, but I only got to the second boss once, not sure if I'm missing something else but it just feels really hard. This can totally be a good thing--just mentioning because I'm not sure if that's what y'all are going for. I kinda wish I could go back and just retry the second part without the first part though.

Overall, great job! This was fun and a really creative take on the theme--well done! :)

We're so grateful for the detailed feedback! Thank you. We definitely were going for a bit of an expectation subversion on this one. You're absolutely right about the instructions getting lost in the noise. We'll make sure those are clearer next time around. And you're totally right about the "victory lap" style of the second round. It's intended to add a challenge for those who want one (with a bit of practice it's totally manageable), but it's also meant to just be a fun way to celebrate beating that first boss if you want to stop there. Thanks again for such lovely in-depth feedback.
