Pretty nice game overall! Controls felt smooth and responsive.

Awesome game! I got hit with a quick wave of nostalgia because it reminded me of the chicken invader games I used to play when I was little!

Simple yet fun game !

That music was relay good.  And that slight twist was a bit of a surprise!! though the second level was hard due to the size and amount of meteorites that spawn in.  Otherwise, neat game overall!!

Featured in today's Livesream!!

This is so cute! I was also surprised by the boss fight as others were, but I think it broke up the regularity of dodging objects well, and I could see this as a longer game starting from the small scale of the snow globe (or smaller) to a cosmic level. Nice work!

That music is super catchy!

I enjoyed the pace of the game. It is quickly fun and challenging. The boss fight at the end was a great surprise (is this SkiFree again!?), as well as the second level. I wish there was a checkpoint between the two. The boss fights are really harsh, and I lose quickly against them unless I'm being really agressive and lucky.

The sense of progress is well managed! I like that you can only see part of the level around you when you're small, even though it makes the very beginning kinda confusing to read.

Congrats for making this game!

Developer

Thank you so much!

And wow, I just went and checked out SkiFree and you're totally right! I had never seen that before haha. I think to make the bosses more manageable I should've added a small invincibility period to avoid the asteroid hammering. Thanks for the feedback, and we're glad you enjoyed it :)

Didn't expect the boss fight at the end, really nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We didn't expect it either haha, but it just seemed like a fun next step so we went for it!

This a fun game! I really like how you fit the theme, I thought some stuff looked a bit weird for what I thought it was and then I got to the boss fight and it all made sense! It was very clever! The music and visuals are great too!

Here's some other feedback if y'all continue to work on the game:

  • I don't know why I missed this, but I didn't realize I could hit space for the shield for a really long time. I think it was only on my third attempt did I realize "OK, I'm definitely missing something here" and then made sure I actually read all the instructions--I think I only read the first message and didn't realize there was more. This totally can be just a "me" thing, but yeah I just missed this haha!
  • I assume the second level is more like a victory lap, but I only got to the second boss once, not sure if I'm missing something else but it just feels really hard. This can totally be a good thing--just mentioning because I'm not sure if that's what y'all are going for. I kinda wish I could go back and just retry the second part without the first part though.

Overall, great job! This was fun and a really creative take on the theme--well done! :)

We're so grateful for the detailed feedback! Thank you. We definitely were going for a bit of an expectation subversion on this one. You're absolutely right about the instructions getting lost in the noise. We'll make sure those are clearer next time around. And you're totally right about the "victory lap" style of the second round. It's intended to add a challenge for those who want one (with a bit of practice it's totally manageable), but it's also meant to just be a fun way to celebrate beating that first boss if you want to stop there. Thanks again for such lovely in-depth feedback.

This is a fun little idea! I liked how the movement felt, and how the game worked. I also really liked the music. Also the boss fight was so surprising but awesome!

Developer

Thank you so much! We tried to make it feel smooth, and we're so proud of our musician for what she could accomplish in such a short time!

I was just thinking that it had a nice pivot from something similar to asteroids to something like a bullet hell, only for a boss to suddenly appear. Good stuff!

Developer

Thank you! We had a lot of fun designing the bosses.

Submitted(+1)

Wow, that really caught me off guard! I absolutely love how this game is just curveball after curveball. This is an absolute work of art. The boss fight reminds me a bit of the Cuphead style. I think with some more animations (and maybe some evil music during the boss fight) this could be a really trippy game for first-time players. Love it!

Developer

Yay! We're so glad you liked it! The goal was to stack those curveballs into something that stayed entertaining. Thank you!

Interesting take!
I was NOT expecting a xmas game in August, and I was definitely NOT expecting a boss fight.

Developer(+1)

Neither were we! But next thing we knew, we were making one! It was a fun idea that we just jumped on. Hope you enjoyed it!

Artstyle was so cute I love it! The sudden snowman bossfight was a great twist! Also had fantastic music! I'd say the game is a bit too difficult for me though. Fantastic job overall!

Developer

Thank you! We definitely ramp up the difficulty pretty quickly. With only so little time, we wanted to make a fun challenge. Thanks so much again!

Cute graphics & fitting music.
Good idea to scale the meteoroids down and the star up.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Maybe not as cute as your kitty, but we tried ;)

Submitted(+1)

The music makes me want to shoot for the stars! (Also you handled the scaling mechanic really smoothly).

Developer

Thanks so much! We're really proud of what our musician could accomplish in just two days, thank you :)

Had an oh my god moment when I ran into the boss. Was NOT prepared for that haha. Loved that there was a second level.

Developer

Haha yay! We hoped for a moment like that! haha glad you liked it!

The art was really good! The screen was too big and I had to zoom out the browser window to see everything.

Developer

That's something I will absolutely address next time. I'm glad you were able to make it work, thanks for playing!

Very exciting concept!

By no means was I ready for that boss :D I really liked how you work with the scale: you can feel how gigantic these planets in the background are! I would probably prefer the boss fight not to be that tense as regards the amount of projectiles, but that can be just my personal impression.

Always happy to find and try out another "space" game at this GMTK :)

Developer

Thank you very much! We definitely would put some more time into balancing in the future. Thanks again for playing!

Love the hand-drawn art style and the core gameplay also left a deep impression on me, nice job!

Developer

Wow thank you so much! That means a lot! It was such a fun concept for us to pour our hearts into

Did not manage to kill the snowman but fun little game ! Nice job

Developer

Thanks for playing! That cosmic snowman can be tricky for sure.
