Hey! Tried your game, here's my feedback:

  1. Would've preferred more reaction time given to react to the monkeys' attacks. Currently they just spawn and instantly throw bananas at the girl. Since the girl cannot dodge, and you cannot control her, there's very little you can do to prevent HP loss from monkeys' initial shots. I lose a lot of HP to the monkeys and found them to be a little unforgiving.
  2. I liked the storm lightnings that can help attack the enemy, not sure if they damage the player too but I found the reaction time given for those were also quite short.
  3. I wish there was some way to heal. Like item drops from the enemies killed. Personally found it quite hard as there is a lot going on after the first few maps, and the girl is basically a damage sponge that just takes the hits. I once got so close to the end of the map and died which made me a little sad haha. However, I liked that there were checkpoints so there was no need to restart from the beginning.
  4. Didn't realise we had to pick up the shield at first but I figured it out when I ran to the end of the map and it was a deadend, forcing me to go back and figure this out. Since this was a slight inconvenience and eventually learnt, maybe this is a minor point.

Other than that:

  • loved the title
  • loved the introduction
  • loved the pixel art
  • loved the hilarious scream at the start!

Perfect review, what I like to see! some things you have said were things we wanted to implement but didn't have the time... some things we didn't even think of! don't worry, our next game will be a masterpiece!

Totally understandable, it's still a really great side-scroller, and also another thing I forgot to mention is that I liked how the backgrounds are really varied - from sunny at first and then transitioning to a stormy night. The wave animations also add that extra bit of immersion to the game! Good job to you and the team! :)
