The bass riff is very good, but I think it lacks some of the other main components of the original: a good loud kick, synths and more rhytmic parts. But your limitations are a good choice, and you made something original that sounds very nice.

I'm not sure about the loud kick but I agree on the fact that i didn't use much instrument, just discovered by watching ppl jam cover that I could have used some cello too.
I will try to do a more rythmic part around 0:57 while making instrument come together.
