Would also have liked it to be a little more intense, will work on it.
Thanks for your feedbacks!

Thanks

(1 edit)

I'm not sure about the loud kick but I agree on the fact that i didn't use much instrument, just discovered by watching ppl jam cover that I could have used some cello too.
I will try to do a more rythmic part around 0:57 while making instrument come together.
Thanks for your feedbacks!

Thank you

Thank you

Thank you

Will try to do this yeah, would have loved to be able to make all the instrument fit together in a strong part, but got stuck with my baseline. I will maybe try to do another baseline to make it fit.
Thanks for your feedbacks!

Thanks, I made the bass line kinda first (as I thought the boss main identity instrument should be at the center) with the brass so I was sure they would fit together nicely and give me this boss fight tension. But then i tried to add some more things to my bass melody and... Dang! I just couldn't make another melody fit with the bass line (but was to proud of it to change it).
If I have a regret it's that the bass line was maybe a bit too complex and made the transitions between instrument not as smooth as I would have liked them to be.

As I said already, nice vibe,  and such a great/pleasing transition at 0:40.
Would have love a bit more continuity in the sound because I didn't feel like the melody change at 0:56 fitted well with the first part, but at the same time some variation was needed sooo...
Good Job!

I feel like the drums are overwhelming other instrument, like some people pointed out.
Love this sax melody!
Great job!

Everything seem like at the same place, on the same plan, so it stay a little plain, but understandable if you don't know how to master yet.

But can't advise you enough to look a little bit in mastering. Even without diving too deep in it it would send your track to next lvl (like playing with panning, EQ, and sound automation)

I love the melody you came with!
Great work!

I really like the melody and synth choice, but dang, u combined rythm that can't fit together in my opinion and it confused me real good (like the combination was fine, weird but real great until the tenth second and then I'm lost XD)

Dang! I wish you could have natural vocal instead of those, that sound a bit to computer-generated like at some time.
But well that's hard to do/get!
The vocal do add some originality and fit really well with the ambiance you builded.
Great work!

Love how you were able to make this epic yet sometime stress-building ambiance.
Great sound!

Love your mastering!
(except for the hihat i find a bit too loud/dry, kinda scratched my eardrum, but I know I'm sensitive to some sound so it may not bother other)
Great song!

It's so... filled but not full... like everything fit really well together without being to much!

Great mix!

Probably the sound I liked the most for this jam, so well done!

Having no constant kick can be a good way to increase difficulty? I felt like the groovy rythm was enough, but well, I never played the game sooo...

Liked your brass slide, make the sound very groovy!
Nice use of underwater effect + bubble sound, make a real accurate and original transition
I agree with the panning part, would have upgraded the mastering to another level i think!

Didn't really feel the coral riff identity in it but i loved the epic vibe you choose.
Would have liked a bit more of space mastering (don't know if u played with the pan parameter on this sound... one free plugin i like to use for this is anaglyph)

Didn't feel like it fitted with coral riff, but this would be a fine OST for the game.
The melody is really nice!
Good work!

Melody and bass part are really nice!
Not sure about the voice as snare, but that's purely my taste seeing that foxhyode found it nice.
Love the "original" game percussion you put in there like between 0:25-0:29, I feel like I heard it in other retro game sound.

Is the melody inspired by another sound?
It make me remember something but I can't quite put the finger on it... maybe a zelda theme?
Anyway nice work!

Loved the drop in the middle, was real smooth.
I also needed to lower the volume around this time.
I would have loved a little more variation maybe... a melody added on top with another instrument? (but well that's my taste and I'm being picky)
It's a great sound!

I really feel the boss ambiance, just stressfull enough during the whole song, nice!

Hello!

I'm interested in helping with the development.
I'm also able to do sound design and music composition if needed.

I will contact you via discord!
