That's unfortunate, I hope you're doing okay. But I think the strange noise is intentional and is supposed to emulate the hum/buzzing of the old electric lights (which was a part of thd old original post that spawned the backrooms craze)

That said I guess it wouldn't be bad to have an accessibility setting to turn off irritating noises like this without having to turn off the game's sound effects entirely. We'll see what the devs do.

My vertigo mainly occurs in environments such as "Half-Life" (including Portal) and "Haydee". I also have problems with excessive light and gravity, such as "Alan Wake" and "Severed Steel". Most of the time, it will be better if I turn off motion blur, turn off head shaking, zoom out (or sit farther away), and turn off light and halo reflections.

In addition, I seem to be allergic to electronic sounds. When I was a child, I would get headaches if I played NES games for a long time, but SNES was much better. What puzzles me is that I actually get vertigo in "Eversion"...
