To be fair you've not missed much, all you would do once you have the ruby and key is I teract with the pedestal next to the big door to place the ruby and then I teract with the door.. there is a little bit of story and then the game resets
I put the ruby down but the door said I had to do something else.I tried it again and it worked. Not sure what changed.
