Overall Rating: 6/10 — Room for Improvement
1. Enjoyment
Unfortunately, the experience was severely affected by technical issues. During the tutorial, the game froze and went to a black screen after destroying the Mountain, forcing me to restart. I replayed it and managed to complete the tutorial, but similar issues occurred in the first level as well — it froze after completion, which spoiled the experience. These glitches significantly disrupted the enjoyment of the game, making it hard to progress smoothly.
2. Concept
The game concept resembles the card DLC in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, where the player also loses fingers. The idea is interesting and has potential, but due to gameplay shortcomings, it wasn’t fully realized. The game lacks interactivity and dynamics, which limits player engagement.
3. Presentation
There’s a complete lack of sound — no music or sound effects, which greatly reduces the game’s atmosphere. The visual elements and animations could also use improvement; for example, the creature has no animation to change facial expressions when the player wins or destroys one of its units. These details are crucial for creating immersion and emotional involvement, and their absence is strongly felt.
4. Use of Limitation
It’s difficult to give a specific evaluation here, as I’m unaware of the restrictions set in the jam. However, it seems that the developer may not have had enough time to fully implement the intended project. It would be interesting to see a more polished version that fully realizes the concept.
Conclusion: The game shows good potential and an original idea but requires substantial improvement. Technical issues and the lack of sound significantly hinder enjoyment, while the absence of animations reduces player engagement. The project could benefit from further development to fully showcase the concept and address current drawbacks.
