The visuals and audio are crisp, the game looks and sounds amazing.
I was a bit frustrated by the gameplay, I feel like lot of the times I was just repeating moves, waiting for the AI to make a mistake, but it's probably just me being bad. Might be interesting to test a player vs player version of this.

Great concept! It's hard to make a new board game from scratch, but you made a pretty intriguing one!

Developer

Thanks :)
This was my very first time making a turn based game. Same with the AI opponent for it.

Very well done! If you decide to add to it, I'd love to see more pieces! When I tested this out, I was streaming it to a few followers on twitch and one of them was so excited to try it he searched up the game immediately!

Developer

Oh, nice to know, haha

Very intriguing game with an daunting atmosphere! Pawner's a gem lol. I too unfortunately ran into a couple of freezing problems, but I really dig the game mechanic and hope to replay whenever the bugs get fix!

Developer

You mentioned the freezing bugs, so i assume you played the jam version that really has these problems. I already uploaded a fixed web version of the game that also has sounds and some polish, besides being fixed :)

Oh, I played the web version again just to be sure. And, I don't know if I'm doing it wrong, but whenever I do destroy the rock first in the tutorial, I am still unable to move my human pawn any further.

Damn, something sus is going on there... Anyway, now it's fixed

The game setting and gameplay are very appealing, but sometimes the pieces don't attack, which leaves me unsure of what to do.

The rating is very objective and unbiased, even though I’m his friend. Sorry ;3

Overall Rating: 6/10 — Room for Improvement

1. Enjoyment

Unfortunately, the experience was severely affected by technical issues. During the tutorial, the game froze and went to a black screen after destroying the Mountain, forcing me to restart. I replayed it and managed to complete the tutorial, but similar issues occurred in the first level as well — it froze after completion, which spoiled the experience. These glitches significantly disrupted the enjoyment of the game, making it hard to progress smoothly.

2. Concept

The game concept resembles the card DLC in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, where the player also loses fingers. The idea is interesting and has potential, but due to gameplay shortcomings, it wasn’t fully realized. The game lacks interactivity and dynamics, which limits player engagement.

3. Presentation

There’s a complete lack of sound — no music or sound effects, which greatly reduces the game’s atmosphere. The visual elements and animations could also use improvement; for example, the creature has no animation to change facial expressions when the player wins or destroys one of its units. These details are crucial for creating immersion and emotional involvement, and their absence is strongly felt.

4. Use of Limitation

It’s difficult to give a specific evaluation here, as I’m unaware of the restrictions set in the jam. However, it seems that the developer may not have had enough time to fully implement the intended project. It would be interesting to see a more polished version that fully realizes the concept.

Conclusion: The game shows good potential and an original idea but requires substantial improvement. Technical issues and the lack of sound significantly hinder enjoyment, while the absence of animations reduces player engagement. The project could benefit from further development to fully showcase the concept and address current drawbacks.

Thanks for the review, friend! :3

Funny story about the technical issues... it was literally 50 seconds before the deadline, I had to submit the build without a final check! It was also 6:59 AM on a Monday, so I just crossed my fingers hoping that I left no bugs while adding final touches... turns out, I did!
