Excellent work! Echoing some other comments:
- Spikes felt too large and I personally think it's good to favor the player anyway, many games like Celeste have smaller hazard collision than the visuals, which also means you often feel like you "just barely made it".
- Being able to drop straight down is important, I suspect just stopping lateral movement when there is no input, or very quickly reducing it to zero, would work.
- Stellar use of corpse, it really takes the sting out of dying
- Super thankful for optional item, I did go back for a few.
- Love the intro, art, music and design, lots of style!
Initially I struggled with the wall jump BUT I realized you can just hold towards the wall and keep jumping, which was super easy and worked well. Getting a really nice wall jump is probably going to take a lot of time so what you have is pretty good once I figured it out.
