Windows Defender doesn't like the Godot version for some reason... I can't complete the download 🥲

Oh no.

Umm do you have more info or a screenshot.

The godot version is here as well:

I know the steam version isn’t ideal but it still is an easier way to load the game onto a pc.

Hey, I managed to play it through the download link! I just had to disable Windows Defender, and it worked perfectly :) This kind of thing happens a lot. Pretty much all my games have the same issue, doesn't matter if it's Godot, GameMaker, or Unity. Wish I knew how to fix it...

I also played it on Steam and got the "true ending" there, along with the three achievements. The game wasn't an easy ride, but you've warned us.

It's really terrible this whole situation we trans/enby people have to go through in most countries.

The game is so full of meaning and emotion. As a psychology undergrad and a trans person myself, I feel like it hit me on an even deeper level. Thanks for this open letter about how transmedicalism can be so harmful to a multitude of reasons. We need this outspoken for cis people too.

I'm also curious about the many versions of the game. You mentioned it was initially conceptualized on Twine. There's an old Unity version, and now a Godot one. The HTML5 version also seems a bit different.

Hi Nael,

Please forgive any awkwardness in this reply as I am exhausted and about to sleep.

What has happened, is happening, and probably what will happen to us by medical professionals is a terrible thing.

The reason why there are so many versions is for multiple purposes.

First the translator Fuglekongerige put a lot of work into translating the game and to respect their work I try to put in the work too. I have a lot of respect for translators.

The second thing is that for the steam version I wanted japanese players to be able to experience the game with full achievements and playability on par with english players. The best way to achieve this was remaking the game as the old unity version was a mess and it’s original files have been lost.

The third and final factor is that I am currently moving onto making a new game in godot engine. Remaking “saving you from yourself” is kind of a “hello world” to learn the quirks of a specific engine. It lets me do an extremely small scale project from start to finish and get it onto both steam and itch before I decide if I want to be working with the engine for months to years.

Anyways thank you for playing the game at launch, my hope is that people will be able to play and enjoy the translators work.

Thank you,

Taylor

No worries, I'm heading to sleep too haha

It's super cool you got a translator to help with the Japanese version. And... welcome to Godot Engine, I guess! I've been playing around with it too and falling in love with how intuitive (and fun!) it is to code games there.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my comments. It's always a valuable experience to play your games, they're so authentic and honest. My first contact with your work was with "Do I Pass?" and ever since I've been wanting to make a short story about trans experiences too (maybe through the transmasc lenses to mirror my experience).

Keep up with your work and I hope all the best to you.

Good Night 🌙✨
