I've never made alcohol before, and I'm on day 9. Even if I did know how to make alcohol, it might take a long time to go out on the map, gather the things, and make my first bottle when I'm at 0 stamina and falling over every 7 seconds.
Check above the fridge for a cookbook and look for "The Brew" in it. You don't need to buy the absurdly expensive sugar in the store and can just go to the lake, grab some sugarcane, and craft the sticks into some sugar.
