Very good game, it reminds me of Metal: Hellsinger, BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE, games that combine FPS and rhythm elements. However, I feel that due to the map design (long corridors) and the boss's fast movement speed, these factors together make me end up walking backward and dodging attacks while facing the boss. This often prevents me from seeing what's behind me, and I also have to focus on stacking pistol damage. Many times, my backward movement gets stuck in certain positions, which is undoubtedly frustrating. I consider myself experienced with this type of game, but even I needed many deaths to get familiar with completing it. For less experienced players, the game becomes even more difficult. I think if the boss's movement speed were lowered or if difficulty settings were introduced, it would give players time to check the terrain ahead while being able to turn and observe the boss's movement logic. Players could also make decisions on reloading, stacking damage, or dodging, which would provide more positive feedback. I also think that if players restore 1 health point after reaching the full 5 layers of damage, it would help increase positive feedback. Currently, I feel that the game relies more on reflexes to dodge the boss's attacks, but it forces players to sacrifice their ability to observe the terrain in order to progress. The third boss, which spawns minions, also creates a challenge for many players who play this way, as they are already busy dodging the boss and struggle to see the minion position
Yeah it is true, there are many elements to be aware of at the same time, especially after the first boss (I already tuned down all the bosses a lot, but I get that it might be hard to do everything together at first). For new players it's hard, but I'm glad you made it to the third boss. Thank you for the review !
Yeah I actually might have to agree, it's something to do with how the boss interacts with the player, that makes the player interact with the environment in awkward ways. I didn't had a problem with the first boss actually, which means there might be a way to make it work. Also let's acknowledge the sick main screen
