I think a touchscreen would def work better, who knows, maybe in the future I will try to get touch screen working, never done that before though.
I just tried it out on my phone and it already works well on touchscreen! (Godot processes touch as a left mouse click by default.) Just check the “mobile friendly” box in your itch page settings so people know to try it out ;)
