Storing and switching between weapons and the coffee is an interesting idea, but the rest of the game's skeleton definitely felt more on the basic side conceptually. I always think that a unique core concept that stumbles is significantly more fun to play than a plain concept done competently. I think for your next jam you should definitely try your hand at making something conceptually super unique, my recommendation when it comes to drafting ideas is to just write down a list of random irl or fictional things that you associate with the jam's theme, and then try and think about how you can turn those each of those random things into a game. By the end of it I almost guarantee that one of those ideas in this exercise will speak to you.
