Review
I enjoy the concept, this is one of the concepts I floated when the group was ideating so I was very interested to play the game. I felt the game had a lot of features such as customization, and immediately being able to access the boss. Loved the polish with the cut scenes. And loved most of the straight forward mechanics, and learning the attack patterns.
Criticisms
Some adjustments to the telegraphing for player enjoyment, because sometimes I would be looking up at the boss, and the radials on the ground would not be seen, also sometimes the radials would appear, and the wrong attack would play. I think the speed change feels insignificant unless you are very low on speed. Also having to stop to accumulate speed doesn't seem like meaningful gameplay.
Some solutions I thought of
You could limit camera movement when looking at the boss, so that the ground is always shown. I like the boss design and the mechanics. Make having a full speedbar more impactful. I think potentially removing the stations or replacing them with something a bit more dynamic with the same function, such as ramps or maybe launchers that reset your speed bar.
