Yeah, turning off the main menu animations resolved the stutter there. I had to reinstall the game because I deleted it, and I managed to play a decent bit further before the black screen bug returned
it' not really at a specific point, but I don't think it's random, either; It very well could be, but I think it starts after around 10 dialogues. What's interesting is I lasted WAY longer last time, and I'm not sure if it's due to the reinstall or if I restarted my PC and that's why.
