I can see that, but to be fair a lot of it has to do with the newer version being experimental and incomplete.
I still need to work on mechanics like a debranching dialog system which I had in Renpy out of the box, not to mention make art assets because I am not happy with the quality/consistency of the previous ones.
The prototype is far from being a playable game, it's goal is to showcase an idea and receiving feedback before committing to it so needless to say, the feedback is appreciated.
The main reason I made the engine change was that it is really tiresome to work on multiple projects in different engines and I thought it would be cool if there more games like this that weren't limited by Renpy.
