My OC Runie lived in the Philippines when he was a baby but moved to America when he was 2 years old. (I dont know if fictional cities count but i’ll write it anyways TwT)
When he turned 4 he moved to Lumiere City which was a very bad time for him, save for his friend group which helped keep him sane after being bullied for his strength and non traditionally boy like appearance.
6 years later he moved to Golden Grove!! Where he meets his best friends and where he can learn to grow his confidence back again :3
I went more to places near the capital like Lyon and such and i gotta say it's a lovely place a very well done mix between city and nature i didn't have the Luck to Visit The Tower of Eiffel tho my mother got sick in the last day because she insisted on eating some sushi from a Store in Val d'Europe and thus we spent the last day Of our journey just kind of Cooking stuff in the rented room, Well at least we got to visit Disney before hand couldn't miss that
yu-ming is from qingdao, china! she actually moved to baker city, oregon at 6 (oregon is where, canonically, golden grove is set) before moving to where golden grove is in oregon !! she learned english beforehand and actually being in the us helped her english develop a little more !! she still has a bit of an accent on certain words and speaks mandarin at home and chinglish when lazy.
im currently redesigning my mc kojo, who is ghanaian and korean. i originally intended him to be from london, but changed all of that 💔 he's now from melbourne, australia! he moved to compton, california at 7 years old and learned spanish from the old lady next door !! he speaks korean at home, as his ma is korean. in my lore, her english name is opal, and her korean name is ju-hyeon. she moved to australia when she was 20 or something, before having kojo at 25.
kojo is now also greek, cuz im really into percy jackson atm. i imagine his dad being ghanaian and greek. kojo can speak a lot of languages 😼 (twi (spoken in ghana), korean, chinese (he learned it for qiu only to found out that kid can barely speak or read/write it), german for tammy, greek and ancient greek cuz he's a nerd, mexican spanish from the lady next door, and some more i have yet to think of 💔💔)
Vale was born in Kentucky and lived in a rural town but his mom is a Kurdish immigrant (which caused him to have a goofy ass accent) then he moved to golden grove and is trying to get used to actually believing the weather channel (Kentucky's weather is so ass and the weather channel/apps can never properly forecast it, i do not recommend going to Kentucky ever)
I know right? Tennessee weather is just as bad, minus the abnormally cold rain. I also love how many of us are giving their MCs weird accents. It reminds me of something from when I was younger. My mother once told me a story about a guy she knew in college who was from China and learned to speak English in Appalachia. He ended up speaking with a Chinese-Appalachian accent.
