See my above post (https://itch.io/post/899565) - if you get connection timeout, you either failed to port forward, or the game is not allowed in the firewall.

You can start with searching "port forward <name of your router>" and check via any of port testers (example) when you are hosting a game.

Using Hamachi or similar tools is another option, you can find plenty of instructions on that.
