The assembled weapon will be in the orientation of the piece you are holding when snapping things together at the table. If you're holding a grip, and it's pointed downward into the table, then when it snaps to the blade the blade will be stuck down in the table. When it comes to guards, it's hard to tell the orientation of them. So I use this procedure to minimize the stuck weapon glitch:
- Place the blade right hand side of the table.
- Place the guard on the left hand side of the table.
- Grab a grip and drop it on the ground so it's flat with the ground (and parallel to the table surface)
- Pick up the grip and push it first into the guard, then into the blade.
Using this process, I rarely get weapons stuck in the table. Of course if something does it stuck, you can grab the weapon and use Alt and Ctrl buttons on your keyboard to rotate it free. Happy Smithing!
