Really nice take on the theme! The animations were really expressive and detailed! The music was really nice, along with the SFX providing great feedback towards whats happening on screen. The gameplay was also really engaging! The set of mechanics found really promote an aggressive play style, which is  a huge plus.

I would like to note though that given how the respawn and energy mechanic works, along with the fact that there are so many enemies to respawn from, I usually found myself killing at least one enemy by spamming all my energy shots, getting killed, getting all my energy back, then repeat, which may lose a little bit of the meaning behind aggressive play and lean more towards brute-forcing (idk). Maybe don't let the player spawn with full energy (0 - 1/4th energy when respawn maybe), and in that way players could think more about how to use their energy more thoughtfully (don't quote me on this though, its just a suggestion and could probably make the game worse haha).

I also just want to say that I really liked the tutorial. It was such a nice introduction to the game proper, and hyped me up to see what I was getting myself into (always love title drops in media).

Overall, it was a really good game that handled all aspects pretty well. I enjoyed playing it quite a lot! Good work!

Thanks for playing! Aggressive, fast play was my goal from the start, so I'm glad that came across. I really appreciate the feedback, because I think you're right that the energy system needs some work. I'll try your suggestion and see how it plays. Maybe respawn with 0 energy but make the main attack recharge more energy, so you don't just end up stuck without any energy. Or another option I've considered is ditching the energy drain and making the corpses disappear over time to keep the player moving. Glad to hear the title drop wasn't too cheesy!
