This story is good. Excellent characters, clever use of character generator parts, and a plot that left me wanting to see what happens next.
I liked how you modified the tileset to block parts of the map off and create small challenges to get to some of the chests. Also, giving the player the ability to choose a primary weapon at the beginning of the game was a nice touch.
The beginning of the game was a bit text-heavy and full of autorun events. I was afraid I was playing a visual novel at first, but fortunately, it was over before I gave up.
Making the teammates auto-attack was an odd choice, and one that did not work out well. Taking control away from the player is rarely a good move. I wanted to explore the other characters' skills! Also, I died on a random encounter that would otherwise have been an easy win if the AI hadn't been in control.
This is an overall solid entry, and I would like to see the rest of the story. Just let me control more of the battle next time!
