I swear... this submission is another one that is extremely deep in the gray area.

The game finished before the creator joined the jam, the creator itself joined the jam only very very recently, and the game itself is barely scratching the magical girl genre... and this time it's another one of those games that are submitted to so many different jams, and to some of them the theme doesn't fit.

But I suppose this game doesn't break any of the rules. It has magic and it has the girl character, although the girl itself is not "Magical Girl". Very unhappy with this submission; but I will leave this up... for now.

I think that on the next Magical Girl Game Jam (if there's going to be one), we should clearly define the baseline rules and rubric that every submission has to meet. One rule could be that any game suspected to be submitted under deceptive or just bad intentions will be removed.

I plan there to be a next one -- in about six months. And yes; I definitely will tighten and more clearly redefine the rule a bit. I wanted this jam to be lax and a li'l wild west... but it seems I got too lax. This is the first time I have ever hosted a game jam -- only expected it to be small in which case these types of submissions are fewer, and I could enforce the rule of "Be nice"

The rule of "any game suspected to be submitted under deceptive or just bad intentions" though... I don't think it's what I would call clearly defined --  that rule basically says "any game I don't like might get removed" -- which is kind of against some of my core principles. Probably I will reword it some way to make it clear I'm not going to remove games simply because for example I don't like their message or their taste but yeah, thanks for the suggestion XD

I'd say that your first attempt at a jam is going pretty well, so you you shouldn't worry. :D

By the phrase quoted, I meant games like ones that have clearly been submitted to many different (often unrelated) jams for the purpose simply driving traffic to their game, and they were made like a billion years prior to the jam, as an example. I should have elaborated, but I'm not sure this clarification is satisfactory to begin with. D:

Yeah. I understand. I have updated the rule a bit with "red flags" to judge whether or not a submission is to be removed or not. Thank you very much -- I appreciate the concern :)

Cool, I'll check it out!

hi, this game is completed on 25th and it took two weeks to do this. I have uploaded it in multiple jams that could be mistake. I did not understand the concept of this. Are we not supposed to upload into multiple jams? I am new to this so I am really open to understand how it works.

Thank you for the response.

You are of course allowed to submit your game to multiple jams... but uploading the game into multiple jams is... usually an indication of terrible intention -- especially if to some of those jams the game doesn't actually fit. It seemed as if the game only fit this jam by coincidence. That plus some of the other indications that I mentioned (the game being finished before you joined this jam, you only joining the jam very recently, etc.)... are simply indicators. This jam has had a few very ill-intentioned submissions that I needed to remove, and I will need to ask some questions regarding this submission to determine whether or not this submission is acceptable or not (Though did you actually already remove your submission? Although I did say I am very unhappy with this submission, I am still a little bit willing to give the benefit of the doubt)

"This game is completed on 25th and it took two weeks to do this"

The problem here is not for how long you have worked on the game. The problem with this game in particular... is that it doesn't really fit the "Magical Girls" genre. It is "Magical" and it has the "Girl", but it is not "Magical Girl". That and considering you joined the jam AFTER you finished your game (yes, I can see when you joined the jam; and it's very recent)... really points towards a type of submission that I do not want in this jam.

I understand thank you for updating. I will not be submitting to the Jams here after unless i am doing specifically for one. thanks for the information. This may not be the platform to showcase the work done and begin career as an indie developer. This is more for learning skills and doing best from what is learned.

I see. Thank you for your understanding. I think that's for the best -- to develop specifically for one or two jams only. Good luck on your indie development journey.
