The Good:
- Humour - the art, music, gameplay and story all come together to form a funny experience. Everything seems like it was added with a purpose
- Artstyle - I really liked the artistic design of your game. Objects seemed pixelated and out-of-place, like the blurry window pop-ups and the poorly cropped girl that danced at 3 frames per second. This would be considered bad in an average game, but it created the opposite effect in yours, and added to the surrealism
- Controls - controlling the character with the disc felt intuitive and easy. Slowing down time was also a welcome feature
- Concept - it's a very unique game, definitely wouldn't have thought of it myself, and haven't played anything like it
Could improve:
- Clarity - at the beginning, it was unclear what I was supposed to do. I kept getting punished by the stop sign. It took me a while to figure out I wasn't supposed to stop and just keep walking. Would also be nice if some objects weren't stuck on top of each other
- Feedback - I would've added a different state to each object that triggers when the player "clears" it. For example the stop sign rotating or falling down after you pass it, to indicate you don't have to walk normally anymore. It's nice that you added it to the small bird though
- Variety - After a while, the game gets repetitive, especially because you have to start from the beginning. I recommend adding save points and perhaps a combo system, where you have to perform multiple dances at in a short time (just a suggestion, it's up to you where you take your game)
Overall:
It was an interesting and funny experience, but it wasn't compelling enough for me to complete it. I gave up when the big bird was covering the stop sign and I got killed by it. Despite this, it was the most unique game I've played so far.
