Nice! Always cool to see story based stuff pop up on jams.

The gameplay itself wasn't perfect by any means. Controls felt stiff and moving was too quick and sudden. Could have used some slight acceleration for a more precision. The "enemy" hitboxes were way too big, they manage to "kill" you far before the sprites even come to contact.

The house roofs felt awkward to figure out too. Would probably have been better if they were just background decorations and using actual platforms for platforms. The last interior level felt much better because everything was quite clear and no estimations were needed.

The difficulty was pretty much all over the place. I think the second and third night were the hardest while the last few were a complete breeze.

Was it just me or was the music only coming from the left channel? Could have used more sound effects too.

Oh yeah, the white flags, I thought those were supposed to be like checkpoints but I guess not. And now looking at other comments they mention those resetting your distress level. Completely forgot that was even a thing after like the few starting seconds. Didn't notice it affecting anything? Does it even do something or was I just quick enough and using the flag routes by accident?

Anyways, good job!
