Visual aspect
I liked the way it looks. It's simple but effective, and looks pretty consistent. There's not much more to say, the game has an enjoyable look.
Sound aspect
A bit repetitive (but who am I to judge on that part) but it matches the ambience, it's fast enough to set pressure (with the timer). I didn't really like it, although it does what it's intended to.
Tutorials
I disliked the fact there wasn't any tutorial (not even a little text popping the first seconds to explain a bit what you have to do). I took the fun away from me in my first run, but I gave it a second chance for a second run.
Gameplay
- The combat feels really weird, sometimes the knockback is somehow random and you can take a lot of damage if the enemy walks in the same direction than your knockback. Moreover, you can just "spam J" until the mob jumps in front of you, hoping you have enough range. It was cool at first, but rapidly became boring.
- The random aspect of the map is cool, but it would've been nice to have a few indications on where to go. Even though the map helps once you find it.
- The timer is interesting, but feels a bit buggy. You have timer2 with 1 minute, timer1 with 20s and same with timer0, if I recall correctly.
- Spam R for boost may take the fun away (but it's about whether, as a player, you want to cheat or not). But I could just spam R to start in an area with a chest.
- Talking about chests, it's nice to unlock weapons but what do they do? It needs more explanation here too.
Theme
I guess it fits the theme with the random rooms and the chests, so it'll be a yes for me.
Overall feeling
The first run has a terrible user experience, I really felt lost and was trying to roam mindlessly in the wild, until I saw a comment on here talking about a map, and the game became a bit more fun from this point on.
The game has a great potential with such a simple gameplay, and with polishing it may be really fun to play. Had a great time though :)
