look
im tired of trying to explain to you that using slurs hurts people
do what you will
You're allowing trolls to transform a perfectly ordinary word into a slur. There are thousands of artists right now who have nothing against trans people using it to tag their work. You're estranging yourself from them when you assume that they're doing so with malicious intent. If outrage continues to mount, a lot of artist (like myself at the moment) will end up in the crossfire. When that happens, they're not going to go after the trolls that started this but the people telling them to watch their language. Not all of them will attempt to reach out and explain their thinking as I am, more than likely they will simply throw more crude language in your direction.
As you've said: "slurs hurt people", so a lot of people will get hurt if we nurse every newborn piece of slang to maturity.
Out of polite respect, I can avoid using it in conversations with you or other people who may find it uncomfortable. I am not however going to scrub an incredibly useful and commonly used search term from my vocabulary because some joker somewhere decided to use it as an insult.
futa has been a full grown slur for a long time now and as i said theres very few trans people ive seen be ok with it and none that i know personally (adding to that that i KNOW trans people so im not speaking outta my ass here)
and in regards to reclaiming words
you cant reclaim a word that doesnt apply to you
its just presumptuous
I have been very courteous in explaining my position up to this point.
I will not support this battle against every artist I like and the entire nation of Japan.
I will not be intimidated into changing my language.
If this bothers some people and makes my works inaccessible to them, then I suppose they will have to look for their entertainment elsewhere . I have worked very hard in the past four months to make a free game that anyone can download and enjoy. If it's absolutely impossible for them not due to anything in the game, but to an offhand post I made in the comments then I do not want their support.
This is not an invitation for a rebuttal, this is my official stance on the issue and kind request for you to stop. I will not entertain you with further replies on this topic nor will I reply to anyone else making similar demands from here on out.
Good on you Impy. I know it can be hard and Might make you feel like a jerk, but always stick to your guns. Its your art and your words, not anyone else's!
Plus I know several people who Identify as futa, including myself soooo... one persons slur is another person's Identity I guess XD
Either way Great Game though coin flips are destroying me XD unless their is some kind of secret that I'm missing. Also imps are super cute!
Keep up the good work!
Oh also if you want a free short erotic(or regular one) story just say so! I've gotten paid before, and since I don't often have cash I'd rather use my talents as payment(Gift if you will, i've given it to a few artists and they seemed to like it, though they are a bit extreme in their fetishes XD).
Stay Safe! and don't even feel force to do or say things you don't want to!
Yep, it's coin flip odds if you're picking randomly. Your success scales off of your psychic skills. I wanted to find out if a game with high incentives for doing well would really average out to 50% after a couple of hundred runs. I think that after messing around with my creation for a while I can conclude that the answer is "no, your rate of success depends highly on your mood and will improve through practice".
I don't think I'm the sort of person to make story requests, but that's a very generous offer so I really do appreciate the thought. I like to see what sorts of ideas others come up with and if I think there's ways to improve upon them I make suggestions, but I don't really like to direct others on how to build something from the ground up.
Thank you for playing!
A like having a variety of shapes and sizes for my characters. I think it's nice for the players too since they're more likely to find someone they like.
A link is fine, if you're ok with it. Post it as a comment on the Summer Sweepers game page so that others can check it out if they're interested. I'm excited to see how the story turns out.
People have different preferences when it comes to language and it's mostly driven by community, which is fine with me. It's a matter of courtesy to address people in ways they prefer, but only as long as you're enjoying their company. No one should have any right to demand politeness of others. Especially in cases where someone's opinion of what "good" speech is differs from the way people talk in the places they are visiting.
I do not see any value at all in wars on language. They cause a lot of harm (including collateral damage to those uninvolved), and they will not accomplish a thing because they only serve to highlight which words that those who are trying to cause offense should use. I don't think that this is a problem tied exclusively to America, but it saddens me to see so much energy being wasted to spread misery with no chance of anyone's lives being improved in the slightest. Sadly, I don't see any solution. Firmly holding my position can help me keep from being swept away into the meaningless fight for a time, but it doesn't stop it from happening.
