i actually used ue4 to make a point and click narrative game! if you have any questions, i can do my best to answer them. this is a solid way to go about updating your devlog--it's always nice to have updates and list out what you plan to do going forward to stay focused! i love ue4 but i also want to caution that an "open world" game is a little broad and large for a two week jam. i think you'll have an easier time if you focus on one or two areas for the player to explore and click on things. this will focus your ideas and environment design, and you'll be able to make a more cohesive short game. anyway this got long but i'm excited to see where this goes! best of luck!

Thank you!! I played around a bit in UE4 today and definitely decided to go with something much much smaller lol. Like, even smaller than what I imagined for Plan B (which was supposed to be a 1/5 of the size of Plan A... I need to be at a 1/50 or something cuz wow the work needed for a decent scene is "!!") I'll be sure start writing down any unanswered questions to share later. d(^^ )
[Edit: what omg how did I miss that link?? What a lovely game you have there! I was thinking about going for a more stylized look, but wasn't sure how easy it'd be to implement outside of UV painting... Do you have any tips? :D]
haha a lot of my aesthetic came down to just...... cheating a lot of things. the result you see is mostly custom shaders and very little actual lighting in game. if you're interested in a similar effect you could mess with some unlit shaders and painting textures. you should definitely take a look at this twitter's resources!!
