Bought it. Great game! Dev: I'm hoping that we will not have to buy again if it goes on the Oculus store-front and/or after the planned merging of Sidequest into the Oculus environment. Can you confirm that our purchases will be carried over as the store environments change? Also, I assume we won't get a Steam key if the VR game releases there, but what are your thoughts on this? Cheers!

Hi, I’d be happy to clear it up.
At this moment, purchasing Warplanes on itch.io and uploading it using the SideQuest app is the only official way to get the full version and support us. We’d like to be in as many stores as we can, but in some cases it is not up to us.
We are proceeding within industry standards. If you decide to purchase a game on itch.io or GOG – in most cases – you aren’t getting extra keys for Steam or Epic.
We don’t know any specific details regarding merging SideQuest into Oculus environment.
We don’t know if the game will be released on Oculus Store, we sent our pitch once again, but it is not up to us. So there is no point of speculating on “what if”.
Of course, if you purchased your game on itch.io, you’ll be getting all updates on itch.io.
There is one conclusion - SideQuest and itch.io are awesome. We wouldn't have this conversation if not those two platforms. I understand, sometimes I get frustrated myself that I can’t build my library on one platform. But at the end it’s all about games, not storefronts. :)

Thanks for the detailed & rapid response, Łukasz!
As long as there is a relatively easy way to have the final, full game on the headset, I find it hard disagree. Some Devs though (e.g. Anticleric, who is producing LOW-FI, which is a $35+ game here) have promised Steam keys to people who buy on itch. Such wonderful customer service gives their customers added convenience and future-proofing :D
