It's a matter of preference really. Also depends on what kind of programming experience you have. I always recommend Unity as a great engine to start with as it is pretty easy to get into and to get good results. Godot and Defold are also good choices. That being said, this jam doesn't care about which engine you end up choosing. All are allowed :)
