Hey there, I just need to ask what game engine would be best to use for this jam?
It's a matter of preference really. Also depends on what kind of programming experience you have. I always recommend Unity as a great engine to start with as it is pretty easy to get into and to get good results. Godot and Defold are also good choices. That being said, this jam doesn't care about which engine you end up choosing. All are allowed :)
I have got a related question by the way.
Up to now I used to code the content of my crawlers (but not hardcode, it's available in xml files and can be modified, in theory that is). Now I just made a first rough version of an editor (which might be eventually publicly available although' I'm not sure anybody would use it). What do you think if I make a game with it? I feel like it's a case where it is totally an extension of my current projects and completely oustide the rules even if somebody else using it would not be.
Either way I'll make something to celebrate the event and I never checked The Bard's Tale Construction Set while always being vaguely intrigued about it so if you think it's more fair that I try to tinker something with it insted I may just do that.
Hello, sometime ago I created something which I called dungeon crawl engine in Gdevelop5. I even stated creating some games with with it, which I stopped working on, and moved to another projects. Is it possible to use this "engine" in this jam? Or is it against the rules. I mean - it is not a tool, it is basically Gdevelop5 project with events finished for dungeon crawl game - movement, sprites projections, npcs etc.. I intended to use this as template for some games... and this Jam looks like good oportunity to finally try it out, but I dont want to break any rules...
