I think that for a game made in less than three days it's gorgeous, and the music complements the art greatly. You created such a great atmosphere, especially in the resurrection sequence. The web player wasn't loading for me so i had to download it, and the give up button (lol i tried) didn't work. I couldn't feel a sense of progression, other than the slight variation in enemy spawns.
still a solid submission, all things considered. great job!

Your light around you, bloom level and the fire size on your head, damage, health, speed, indicates the character progression (but it's little in the beginning, near the end it would be huge) and the more enemy types and music should indicate the level progression.
But you're right, I think some hints or/and progress bar should be added, to highlight the goal and progress.
