I like the concept and the evolving feels satisfying. It could be a neat idea to remove some mutations using the poison. The game could really use a timer for the survival time.

Ooh, that's a cool idea! It would give added danger to the poison! Or, if the player was willing to take the health loss, it would be a way to switch mutations.
And yes, a timer is definitely needed. It was on the to-do list but unfortunately I ran out of time (the irony of which is not lost on me)
