No no, you didn't miss anything. There happened to be a bug that I didn't catch that locked the camera in place of the first area. The next area *would've* been the tutorial for picking up items. But alas...
ah, that sucks man, sorry for that... similar thing happened to me aswell in the past, dont be too sad :) still sucks of course...
