Played the windows version. Maybe I missed something, but I see no reason to not equip the shadow as a gun.
Yeah you're right. You didn't miss anything. Originally there was more depth to the gunplay, but most of it was cut towards the end. The ability to unequip the gun was a remnant of the system. Still, thanks for playing and leaving feedback!
