interesting concept, reminded me of Enter the Gungeon's Turtle Problem. lovely presentation with great VFX (good choice of sound FX, too!)

well done!

Thanks a lot, I'll be sure to check that out for further inspiration :)

I was halfway sure that you took the initial inspiration from it. it's even better if you didn't :)

there ain't much to check out, really. EtG is a bullet-hell hell game, and there's an item called Turtle Problem. what it does is spawning little turtles that can absorb a couple of shots before ceasing to exist. they don't shoot, just cover you randomly. it's only just a few of them at first but if you play long enough you'll see, like, 20 to 30. partially reminds me of your idea but that's pretty much it. although EtG is a very creative game, you may find inspiration in some of its many other mechanics

Haha wow that sounds cool. In fact, it sounds like that turtle thing is itself inspired by the green turtles that you can get surrounding you in Mario Kart. I have played EtG before actually, just not enough to actually get this Turtle Problem guy. It's definitely one of the good twin-stick shooters out there, so there's lots to learn from it for everyone.

and I missed Mario Kart reference entirely :D

(Nintendo pretty much ignored our local market. they didn't mind that it got filled with Chinese NES ripoffs in the 90s and didn't really care to enter it officially)
