I loved it! It wasn't that scary but it was super fun! Definitely gave me inspiration to make similar games lol

I noticed there were some boarded up doors aswell, are those content that you had to cut or just decor? Or maybe I missed something. I had to play it twice because pressing ESC immediately quit the game, so that's one thing I'd change.

Also noticed a minor thing: If I stand still and let the floating red eye get me, he will only damage me once and then just stand next to me hugging me (since I assume the damage is only dealt when he collides, and not by an attack animation)

Really nice work on this game, I esepcially like the attention to detail in the fact that you can shoot the bullets out of the air. And of course giving the player hitscan weapons while giving the enemies projectiles is always nice. And the fact that I had infinite ammo felt really good.

Also I love the fact that I can switch to wield my leg as a weapon lol, that cracked me up :)

Awesome game.

Nothing better to hear than that I inspired someone. :) Though about it not being scary, it wasn't supposed to be. "Horror" may have been the theme, but I hate horror games. So I just made a game with the dressings of horror. Demon monsters, spooky mansion, etc. I combined two beloved "non-horror horror" games - Doom and Luigi's Manson - and everything sprouted from there.

Yeah, I had to cut what I planned for those boarded-off doors. It was going to be an outdoor garden-like area, but I realized too late I'd have to make more outdoor decor and a proper "outdoor" scene on top of the mansion itself, so I cut it. Glad I did, the game needed the polish.

Yeah, the eye monster only hits once, until it leaves your damage zone. That uh... never registered as a problem until you mentioned it. Always playtest, kids!

My whole plan was to envoke the Doom feeling, where it just feels good to run around and shoot things. You're not worried about ammo or tactics, just shoot things and don't die. The boot also fit that design I was going for, with that borderline goofy over-the-top action that just feels good to do. I'm really glad I succeeded there!

Overall I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I definitely did enjoy it! Also, you're absolutely right about the Jam games not having to be in the genre of horror, I guess I was just expecting it after playing through other games in this jam :)

A lot of people are expecting it, though, and will be voting based on that. I'm automatically losing a few points for not being a "horror game". It's inevitable, unfortunately. But that's totally fine; I made a great game and people enjoyed it! That's what counts.
